BIOGRAPHY
Lilly Bozeman is a young and emerging photographer from Saint Paul, Minnesota. Lilly began taking photographs at the age of twelve using her smartphone, capturing everyday moments of family, friends, and the natural world. Her creative instincts have always been rooted in a deep appreciation for animals and nature.
In 2018, Lilly began formal mentorship under photographer Melissa Vang through In Progress, where she has been focusing on pet portraiture. Through this experience, she has transitioned from casual phone photography to mastering professional DSLR camera techniques. Her work reflects a patient and attentive approach, especially in sessions involving pets and their owners. In addition to photographing animals, Lilly continues to explore landscape and nature photography, often seeking moments of quiet beauty in outdoor environments. She is steadily building her skills and confidence, with an eye toward becoming a well-rounded and empathetic visual storyteller.
Qualifications
Lilly is proficient in operating DSLR cameras, including understanding basic manual settings and camera functions. She has developed a solid foundation in photography vocabulary and visual aesthetics, which she applies to both posed and candid imagery.
She has gained experience in portraiture photography, with a special focus on pet portrait sessions. Lilly understands how to effectively set up and use professional backdrops and lighting, and she is skilled at working with natural light to create warm and expressive photographs.
Lilly is comfortable directing both humans and animals during photoshoots, maintaining a calm and patient demeanor that helps put her subjects at ease. She is currently expanding her skills in photo editing software such as Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop, learning how to enhance and refine her images in post-production.
In addition, Lilly has developed strong observational skills that allow her to capture spontaneous and meaningful moments, particularly in outdoor and nature-based environments.
