immersive arts mentorship for youth

Digital Journeys is a mentorship program for youth that are committed to learning what it takes to be a creative digital arts maker.  Participants of this program  receive individualized support in the areas of photography, video or music.  The program is dedicated to building the skills of newly developing artists, providing teaching and mentorship opportunities with professional artists and removing age, economic and cultural barriers to artistic development.  

THE PROGRAM INCLUDES:

• GOAL PLANNING –participants visit with our staff and develop a strategy for their professional advancement.

• STUDIO TRAINING – participants learn the general operation of the In Progress studio and access program. Once trained, artists may reserve creative time in the building to practice and further develop their skills.

• SKILL TRAINING - participants work with professional artists to learn technical applications of professional digital art-making tools.

• MENTORSHIP - participants receive specialized mentorship based on identified learning needs that are designed to advance the quality and content of their work.

• PORTFOLIO DEVELOPMENT – participants create web portfolios that highlight their work, receiving guidance on content and writing development.

APPLY TO THE PROGRAM:

Becoming a Digital Journeys artist requires a commitment of time, dedication to learning ,and the willingness to share with others. The program also prioritizes If chose to participate, you can expect to do the following:   youth that live in Saint Paul; are under age 20; identify as BIPOC; are low income or poor; and/or lack access to art making opportunities.
