CINEMA CAMERA BASICS


IP artist Kristine Sorensen will take a small group of artists through training on her SONHFX 6 Cinema camera. It is a complex camera that provides infinite possibilities in terms of quality image making, but the camera is not for the faint at heart. Sorensen will 3-4 artists through the technical ins and outs of camera operation as she herself is learning. Those that attend sessions regularly will gain access privileges to the camera for special projects.

LEAD ARTISTS

Kristine Sorensen is the founder and executive director of In Progress.  She has been a practicing teaching artist since 1987 and has developed several program models in the field of digital arts learning.  She has 37 years experience teaching digital media workshops and residencies for youth, adult artists and educators.   Sorensen is a skilled grants writer, educator, and developer.  She has mentored many artists in her decades of teaching, that are now breaking down barriers as digital art makers. As technology continues to evolve, Sorensen makes a point to learn with others, matching her experience to others curiosity and familiarity with new technologies.

Tong Lee is an In Progress artist and mentor who is also a practicing filmmaker with real life experience working on independent short and feature film sets. Tong Lee leans into the inner mechanics of the camera taking the learning of light, lens, resolution and formatting to new and deeper understandings.

PARTICIPATION

This cohort is designed for emerging artists that have an intermediate level understanding of DSLR cameras and are seeking to gain specific insight into the operation of the Sony FX6. Participation is limited to 3 to 4 participants. early registration is required.
