MENTORSHIP
IP artist Kristine Sorensen, Mickies Kiros and Rena Zapata will be mentoring artists on digital techniques and project creation. Local artists will have the opportunity to stop by learn and share knowledge.
MOVIE NIGHTS
IP artist Monique Arguelles will present a series of family friendly movies along with karaoke and snacks.
THE ART OF MAKING MUSIC - Crookston
Three dynamic music workshops, each consisting of two sessions (totaling six days), will be offered for youth and their families July - August 2025. .Each 2 days workshop provides foundational training in music creation, production, and performance, allowing participants to explore different aspects of music-making. Led by visiting IP artists Jeremy Gardner and Cassie McDuffie. Each workshop features hands-on activities covering songwriting, beat-making, and sound engineering. Participants will learn to craft lyrics, compose melodies, produce digital beats, and experiment with recording techniques to develop their own musical style. Storytelling WOrkshops - east grand forks
In Progress artists Kristine Sorensen, Mickies Kiros and Rena Bouchard offer 3 video and photography training to youth at the Family Resource Center in East Grand Forks. CONVERGENCE RETREAT & ARTIST TALK
This fall, 4 filmmakers from the Twin Cities - Kazua Melissa Vang, Tong Lee, Tiana LaPointe and Mickies Kiros will gather as filmmakers to share ideas for upcoming films and find ways to further build their professional networks in the field. As part of this retreat, the artists will also host a movies night - sharing their artwork and speaking with the local community about how they approach telling their own stories through the medium film.
