Layla whipple
visual arts / curating / peer mentorship / adminsitrative Support
Layla Whipple is an emerging artist from Minnesota who is eager to develop her creative voice through photography. Having lived in Minnesota her entire life, Layla’s artistic journey has been shaped by close family connections and a strong sense of community. She was introduced to In Progress at a young age when her family—especially her Aunt Jacy and cousins—brought her along to take photos and participate in creative activities. Inspired by their involvement and support, Layla is now an official member of In Progress and excited to embark on her own artistic path.
As an artist, Layla is drawn to photography as a way to preserve memories, share stories, and connect with others. Though she is still new to using professional cameras, she has already explored photography through her phone, experimenting with capturing images and editing them to express her ideas. Layla is committed to learning more about photography, meeting new people, and growing as part of the In Progress community. She dreams of one day creating a large collage of photos that celebrate memories from the past, showcasing her evolving skills and unique perspective.
