Studio 110 is committed to strengthening its bond with the artists and families who are working to thrive in a predominantly rural, white community. Looking ahead, In Progress aims to expand programing that fosters the artistic growth of its participants, in a manner that resonates with the values and perspectives of those who are underrepresented - youth, Latino families, individuals living in poverty, and other members of the community who are fighting to be acknowledged and appreciated for their true selves.
nuestras tías lo son todo / May 19 - 21
IP artist Bienvenida Matias leads a hands on workshop exploring the role of “aunties” in carrying families. Members of the community will be invited to join in sharing their best Tía stories - those of support and quiet care, and advocacy that too often can be overlooked by everyone but the person(s) directly benefiting. Stories will be recorded, and portraits will be taken for future exhibition.

IP artist Sai Thao leads a dialogue and digital artmaking activities to explore the implications of generational differences that exist within families and communities. Participants will write, and then film their stories for a collective series of short artistic works.

IP artist Xavier Tavera leads. a weekend post-production critique of “The Harvest,” Members of the film production team - take notes, brainstorming finishing touches and prepare for their upcoming premiere at the Grand Theater in Crookston.

Preserve 2.0 / July 14 - 16
“We’re told to preserve everything. Our identity. Our Culture. Our voices. Our elders. Our stories.“ IP artist Kazua Melissa Vang leads a creative workshop on the preservation of photographic memory. Participants will work with imaging family photographs, writing, and showcasing their memories for exhibition.
